    wont rev past 2,500 rpm

Here's the background its 3 degrees outside. I warmed up my car for a good 7 min. When I went to accell the throttle was cut at 2,500 rpms. Could it be from frozen gas? I thought the freezing temperature was way lower. Any thoughts. Also it did it weather or not i was in gear.

Update: after about ten more minutes of idling it finally got up and went. Hmm.....

Its possible you could have water in your fuel line, causing it to freeze as a higher temperature than gas is supposed to freeze. They sell additives at AutoZone or any other car place that gets the water out of your lines....might try that!

A failing TPS can cause this.

My car did exactly that last year. It was the crank position sensor. ( 1989 car)
