And don't forget a generous supply of Liquid Wrench.

1/2in socket and extension wont cut it huh? because I just tried and its not getting a firm grip to move the nut
3/8 will work best then? whats the swivel socket your talking about?
my problem isnt the force to make it lose, my problem is getting the socket to get a firm girp on the nut, the fucking exhaust pipe is in the way to make the socket grab a good hold of the nutComment

I found that the 3/8" works better because the socket is a little smaller so it fits in the tight areas better.Originally posted by zandi1/2in socket and extension wont cut it huh? because I just tried and its not getting a firm grip to move the nut

The swivel socket mentioned above is just a u-joint for the socket.
I just used the 3/8" socket attached to a u-joint, attached to a 1 foot extension, to the wrench. If you need the extra leverage, you can use a 3/8 to 1/2" adapter so you can use the larger 1/2" socket wrench.

i think he meant he was using a socket that was 1/2" in size.. .as in an SAE sized socket...
and these are swivel sockets

wouldn't recomend using imapact on exhaust unless you have had it apart before.... its a pain to break studsComment
