Making a jumper wire for toolbox

I want make a jumper wire to keep in my tool box, is there a specific sized spade to use for both ends? Should I make more than two ends to test multiple things at once? Is there a DIY specific to making the "Ultimate E30 Jumper Wire"

I've found using 1/4" spade terminals is fine for making a cable to jump relays.

To jump some relays it may help to have a 3-spade jumper cable, but make sure you have some kind of insulating cap to prevent shorting of the third spade when it's not being used.

Maybe I should make one with two ends and another with 3 for when it's necessary. Would I just splice all three lines at a common point or have two ends next to each other with the third end on the opposite side?

get your self a box of t-pins

They are like $2 at the sewing section in walmart for a box of 40. That will allow you to tap into any connector with or without unplugging it.

then order yourself some test leads. you can also get them at any auto parts store. you can also buy the alligator clips alone and make as long of a jumper lead as you need.

that will jump any combination of wires together you need.

May I be so uneducated as to ask what you would use these aforementioned items for? :-)

The idea is that I could bypass/diagnose a faulty relay

                ding ding ding ding.

can also find opens and you can give ground or power to any component you might need.

a very good and inexpensive electrical tool is the power probe III.

                $100 on ebay.

I use alligator clips on both ends. Then if I need to use stakons, I just stick on uncrimped non plastic boot stakons to whatever and then clip to those.
