got a nasty vacuum leak somewhere at the back of the intake
bought a PVC 2" end cap (O.D. was around 2 3/4") Drilled a hole in the end of it and put a schroeder valve. Hit it with the air tank and you can hear a very loud hiss from around intake port 5 or 6.

i had a bottle of soapy water. sprayed all the places you listed and found nothing. Its such a PITA to look back in that area that im going to just remove the intake mani and reseal everthing.

You can also try spraying starter fluid around the #5 and #6 cylinders, hoses, etc with the engine running. When the idle surges up, you'll know you've hit a leak.
I made a fitting to plug in place of the AFM and put compressed air into the intake manifold. I heard a leak back near 5 & 6 right away with very little pressure in the manifold.
So i took the intake off, see no reasons for a leak. EVERYTHING looks fine, hoses, injector o-rings, gaskets...
Im going to reuse the gaskets, they were installed dry and have less then 50 miles on the motor, but this time with some RTV. Getting some new injector o-rings. I did not replace then during the rebuild.
Mating surfaces are clean, only other problem may be the 'tube of death' i dont know if the o-ring i have are correct, spring wore out.. etc.

Okay, replaced all the injector seals, reinstalled the intake manifold with a little RTV, and put a spacer on the tube of death, effectively making the spring stiffer.
no vacuum leaks, it seems to run a little better.... brakes still suck

Is there anything you didn't hook back up like the charcoal canister line that hooks up under the throttle body? This always gets overlooked and many times the weird rubber hose has cracks all in it.
I have solved the vacuum leaks as far as i know. Im working on the brake issue but i had a few things to do before then.
After doing a string alignment im going to head out for some hard stopping. It does stop, and the ABS works, but the pedal is a little to soft for my taste. After 'burping' the system ill try to bleed it again. I did replace a lot of lines so it may have some air.
