I been recieving check engine light 1261 which is the fuel pump relay control. is it that relay under the hood on the driviers side or on the actual fuel pump. it also states it can be my dme. The orange relay is there but i dont know how to test it. What to do?

it's the relay in the engine bay, the aux panel next to where the AFM is. Swap it with the other orange relay (O2 sensor) and see if it helps?
IMO at this point it's a good idea to replace all 3, main, FP, and O2, as they have a tendancy to go bad after 20+ years. I had an intermittent issue where my engine would cut out, thought it was a FP but it turned out to be the main relay. $20 vs $200.. -
