    electric top questions

I need to get an electric top working correctly. The car is a 92. When I bought it the top would get stuck half way. If i remember correctly nothing would happen after the tonneau cover opened. Now when I went to figure out this problem my fuse would pop every time I hit the switch. I went to the trunk to look around and at this point I'm lost. I dropped the top motor, I probably shouldn't have done that as I read now. As of now I don't get power to my relays but I am not sure if that is because of something I have done that stops power.

My two main questions are, what is "the allen wrench" as talked about on ice30.com and how do I open my tonneau cover since it is electric?

Ok so after your tonneau cover raised, the top did not raise? Were you raising or lowering the top?

Where are you in socal? I can help you fix it.

I got it going thanks to nandodude! I am still having trouble getting the tonneau cover to lock on the right side, it won't, even with pressure. I played around with it for a little bit but I guess it still may be a folding issue. Any thoughts if the folding is not the issue?

^I'm sure you guys tried adjusting the cable on that side. I had problems with both sides not locking after I had to fix tonneau top motor. Fixed them both by adjusting the cables on either side.

BTW if anyone is wondering... you can keep your top half power. I left my tonneau and locking mechanisms power and the top and canvas itself is manual. So to open I undue the clasps in the front, life front, get out and lift rear, then press open button and the tonneau opens. Then manually fold the top (still power frame & canvas) into the compartment. Then get back in and press close button. Tonneau closes and locks as if it were full power.

I know it's cooler to have full power, but in my eyes this is a nice compromise since it is free, provided you have a working tonneau motor/gears. LOL I didn't when I bought the car, but I fixed the gearing/motor using some shadetree skills.
