    Replacing rubber carpet pad

The rubber carpet pad insert (the square rubber pad in front of the pedals) is torn and starting to peel up and get my feet caught while driving. Is there a replacement panel that can be sewn in, or some other fix for this?

Floor mats would be one option, but I don't have any, and don't want to get any unless there is a way to secure them. They always end up under or on top of the pedals on my long commute.

Get floor mats, then get the OEM floor locks as well to keep them in place.

I just found a thread about that. Wasn't clear though. What do you attach the locks to? Do you have to cut holes in the carpet and attach them to the floorboard or...?

How much are OEM mats? I'm not really looking to spend $100+ to cover up my rubber pad issue. I'd rather just have a local upholstry come up with something.
