I used to live in the city of Hachinhoe just north of Sendai. That's a huge quake, the night after my son was born we had a 7.8 quake.

Wonder if we will be doing some lift for Japan.

I see reports from 8.5-8.9. NHK says it's an 8.8. Highest recorded earthquake in Japan in the past 300 years.

All my immediate family there has checked in. I'm somewhat relieved.
