    Help me pass emmissions r3v!

Finally got my E30 working pretty darn well. Compression in the cylinders are 150+ across the board, fixed a lot of half-ass-ness I did when I first replaced the head in november, spliced the C191 connection cause it was corroded to shit, never goes passed the halfway mark on the temp even on long idling sessions.
Took my E30 to inspection today so I don't get more tickets. I finally passed..erm..well, "High Idle," but I failed regular idling. I was running my car on 1.2gallons of gas, 1/2 gallon of denatured alcohol (all taken out of the system now).
My idling HC PPM is retarded high. Check it out

Let me know what I can do r3v! Car runs great, except, idle is a littleeeeeee shaky. Definately not running on 5 cylinders shaky, but just a tad shaky. When I stomp my foot to the floor there's a slight hesitation, quite minor. I have a check engine light as well. I can't do a stomp test (153, darn).

Make sure your TPS is adjusted properly. I had a car that had the same issue and the TPS was never telling the ecu you were at 0 throttle. Makes a huge difference!
The difference between porcupines and BMWs is that porcupines have the pricks on the outside!

It is very simple to check adjustment and operation of the switch, dont spray first and ask questions later.

the TPS is actually reading nothing when I connected my multimeter to terminal 2 and 18 and opened it slowly, and then 3 and 18 and opened it slowly. nothing at all..

You have your meter set to read ohms , right? what year/model do you have? You are testing the TPS while it is unplugged?

Yes of course:grin:, 88 325is (153 DME, diving boards, late valances and late rear lights), and yes I took the whole TB out.

Sounds like you are doing it right. 2-18 should have continuity (0 ohms) when the throttle is closed, 3-18 should have continuity (0 ohms) when throttle is is almost wide open. Sounds like a bad TPS if you did the tests correctly.

Shucks. I'll double-check the test again. If it's still not reading anything I'll just get another TPS
