Speedo pulse sender - Differences??

Spending this lovely St. Patty's day in the midst of a diff swap. The diff being swapped in is a different ratio from a later model and the plastic pulse sender was damaged in shipping. It has a different style connector than the one on my car (presumably original). They both fit the diff the same, but my question is will there be any issues with speedo readings or otherwise if I used the original sender with the newer diff? RealOem shows different part numbers for each but that doesn't necessarily mean they function differently right?

Thread resurrection...after you swapped the diff, was your odometer reading screwed up? I went from 4.10 to 3.73 after my manual swap and now I seem to find my odometer reads 25% high.

odometer has nothing to do with your diff ratio.
