i duno how hot my Tstat is, but its in perfect working order i took it out and gave it a once over and threw it back in, looked new so i didn't replace it. it used to get to half but i put a new radiator in and then it started running at 1/4 so maybe its just due to the old radiators or the previous owner put in a colder tstat but theres nothing that says so in the maintnance history.
2 heat related questions.

your rad has moved, or the car has been hit and fixed with a shitty repair, take the fan off and run an electric, unless just the rad fell out of it's mounts at the bottom, which is possible. clutch fans are a bitch anyway, watch your knuckles taking it out too, i've had mine in out in out and hacked my hand up both times, but no worries, running the condensor fan without the condensor switched, and soon to be relayed to come on at a particular temp.Originally posted by BS87Well, i don't think the fan clutch died on it's own. I looked today and the fan is actually stuck. It hit the bottom lip of the radiator, and stuck there. Two blades are snipped off at the corners (think chamfered), so i'm guessing the PO had it atleast hitting before. Is there any reason why the fan would shift so much as to hit the radiator bottom? The motor mounts are brand new, less than 3 weeks.Comment

So yeah, i unstuck teh fan blade, and cut off the associated corner as a quick fix for a week or two until i could get a new fan blade and have time to put it in. Ran fine.
Today it got stuck again. Another fan blade (that i know was perfectly normal beforehand) warped and twisted in the opposite direction so it got stuck. What could be causing this? Is it because the fan is now unbalanced due to the cut ends from the PO (and me) and the heat?
