I've been searchin the board about this, but figured I'd start a new thread since all the information seemed pretty confusing.
Number one, my fan clutch is beginning to go out - I know it's gonna go completely soon. I'm not gonna waste money on a new clutch if I wanna go electric.
So, I already have an extra aux/ac fan off of my parts car. The current aux fan doesn't turn on - hell, I can't even enable my ac. My AC button turns on the blower fan, but the aux fan and compressor don't turn. So - I'm not sure what's going on with that fan. Does anyone know why that wouldn't be working???
However, I would like to eventually get my AC system working again - which includes getting it recharged with R12 (it's completely empty now) and fixing the current auxiliery fan.
What I would like to do is take my extra aux fan, and put it in the place of my current fan clutch fan - is that possible, or would the fan be blowing the wrong direction?
What I'd like to eventually do is have an electric fan AND AC. Then wire my electric fan up so it's hooked to a temp probe. When it reaches a certain temp (not sure what that would be) it would turn on automatically. At the same time, I'd have a switch inside the car that would either have the fan on automatic (Temp controlled) or always on (for autocrosses and whatnot). This is doable, right?
So, basically, I'm wondering if I can use my extra aux fan in palce of my fan clutch. AND - what keeping my current aux fan from working?? Power issues maybe? Even my AC switch doesn't change colors!
Thanks! :D
