I have been having this problem for the past day or two. When I start the car there seems to be this slight howling noise that is only audible as a slight whisper. After I noticed this new noise I started noticing, when I have the clutch pedal fully depressed,a buzzing noise with some some feedback vibration coming from the pedal itself. Whats going on guys? Thanks in advance.

So the noise is louder when you press the clutch pedal? Could be the TO bearing making noise.

Well the main noise im hearing doesn't increase or decrease. It's just there when the pedal is full depressed. I drove the car to the movies tonight and listened for the sound. Didn't hear a thing.

What a bmw tech told me is that you shouldn't sit on the clutch when stopped at a light. the release bearing take too much load and wears it out causing it to get hard or vibrate.
He told me if you want the life of the bearing to last let off the clutch except when you are ready to shift.sigpicComment

thanks guys. Yeah I don't sit on the pedal unless I need to shift. It's just I still have the habit some times of pushing the pedal in when I'm starting the car from when I used to have an old civic..

Fix it fast or you'll get stranded my TB seized and ground a hole in my pressure plate and left me stranded. It only took a few hours in traffic.Last edited by 416stroker; 03-25-2011, 08:06 PM.84 318I Delphin RIP

My throwout bearing made a grinding noise for almost 2 months before it finally gave out. After having a full clutch job done, I also had to get my flywheel resurfaced, because somehow the TB had caused another part of my clutch to malfunction, causing my flywheel to have gouges, cuts, and burrs all over it's surface =/ It was a nice $850 bill...Just tryin' to feed the e30 need.

GET THAT FIXED ASAP.
It was a weird vibration, then it was a destroyed Throwout bearing, a damaged flywheel and a damaged pressure plate.
I got a Clutch Superkit from PelicanParts.com and just am working on fixing everything that could be a wear item.Comment

Alright. Im going to see what my noobness can do with a friend who has all the tools. Im guessing this is going to be a bitch process just for the TO bearing eh?
