Then crank it up and try again.
thank you, I'll head over to the grandparents now and try that out

    Thanks

      Ok here is an update.

I took off the caliper. It looks like the piston is out and pushing on the brake pad, is this normal? I thought this might be the only problem but when I tried to move the rotor without the caliper on it still woudn't budge! Do I need to take the rotor off and check something or is this an emergency brake problem now?

      Please help!!

THe piston should be out - yes. Not to suggest you are stupid, but do you have the parking brake off and the car in neutral while it is jacked up? Make sure it is off.

If the rotors still aren't turning, then the parking brake pads are seizing for some reason.

Am I stuiped? No, but I sure as hell am new at working on cars!

the car is in neutral and the parking brake is off. The parking brake pads deffinetly have to be siezed. They told me what to do on E30tech so I'll try that out.

I'll have to adjest the ebrake while the rotor is still on, or something like that, or else the rotor wont come off? Corect?

Thanks for your help so far everyone!

Some times you can't get them adjusted enough. on my 85 318i I had to end up prying the rotor off and replacing a bunch of stuff.

shit, hope that isnt the case.

I just got that allen key bolt off. When I stick a screwdrive throught to rotate the star wheel, should I be turning left or right? Dosn't say in the book.

              Thanks

Pry up your ebrake boot and loosen the two nuts on the cables untill there is no tenscion on them. Then with the rotor set screw removed beat on the rotor untill it comes off, this should "unseize" your seized ebrake shoes. Reinstall everything and hope for the best. BTW, from what I remember if you remove one thing from the ebrakes themselves, be it just a spring or clip, the whole assymbly will come apart and it is a royal PITA to get back together.

Ok I loosend the ebrake cables and then started waking the shit out of the rotor.

The rotor/hub (there connected, or are they just rusted together?) are very loose and can wiggle around alot now. I hear lots of screaching when I'm pulling, something is still holding it together. Should I be afraid to pull harder?

                  Thanks

Rotor and hub are seperate, just rusted badly, its normal. If I were you I would do whatever it takes to get the rotor off, I am not sure theres much you can do untill then.

The BFH did the trick. Rotor came off. Now time to find out why the hell everything is locked up!

I tried putting the rotor back on to see if it would spin and it still lock so I knocked it off again.

The ebrake pads ( i guess you could say that is what is it, there are 2 U shaped pieces of metal) looked fucked. On the one side its bent outwards a great deal. The other side looks fine. I tried bending it back but no luck.

Do I need to replace these pads? Should I try doing the same thing on the drivers side just for safe measure?

                                Thanks
