    Rear wheell hub nut HELP

    Ok Guys,

Forget using a socket to get the rear wheel hub nut off.. Any ideas, split it with a cold chisel, torch it off, let me know what to do.
    Thanks
    Barry

Did you tear up the nut already or it just wont break loose? Soak it with pb blaster, maybe heat it up, always break it loose with car on the ground + e-brake. Usually tapping on the tool with a hammer will do a better job of getting it broken free than just pushing on the tool.

The nut is rounded I never had the nuts off since I owned the car I used a whole can of blaster. Did not heat it yet.

          The nut is rounded now?

Buy a new trailing arm and half shaft.

I'm thinking heat and a cold chisel will work

If its rounded... grind a slot in it with a dremel and hit it with an air hammer with a chisel attachment to get it moving.

If you are careful you can chisel it. Torch it then split it down the middle.

mine aswell find another trailing arm at a wrecker.... your going to mangle the threads on the shaft anyways....and possibly kill the bearing, im assuming you took the locking ring out before you started trying to remove the nut?

The whole point of the exercise is to change the bearing, there is plenty of room to notch the nut and bang it loose maybe with a little heat, I have the patience.
