    today, i got under the car. and everhthing was really simple. just had to to look at it. haha. there was a small hole inside that it fit in. it just stayed in there. and then we got the pump on and the pan. but thanx for all the help!!!

    haha i used a furniture mover dolly roller thing for my tranny. and my old m20 is sitting on it now too.

    that gear in the diagram wont fall out on its own. its driven by the intermediate shaft. the only thing that came out with i pulled my oil pump was that drive shaft.

    You've just got to read the diagram correctly. As I see it, where it says "11" - don't worry about that, but note that dash'ed line. That tells you that that whole assembly is is inserted into the body of the pump.

    The lower "gears" are actually the pump itself. The shaft IIRC can slip out the top.

    What worries me are the gears pictured at the ends...no such thing appeared in the pan. the pump dropped as a unit.

    Damn. You have HUGE hands, and a tiny, tiny little thumb.
