    If you have a good ohm meter with back probes and long enough leads you can test it that way from engine compartment to under the dash with a friend. Again disconnect the battery first. If it's green with a brown tracer there's a ton of them under there.

      What does that mean? The only symptom that the car has since the short out is that 50% of the time when I start the car, it will idle soooo rough until i rev it up to about 3grand for 10 seconds or so, then its all good.

        Bomb ass wiring diagram at http://www.diakom.ru If you can tell me the tracer I can probably tell you which one it is or at least narrow it down for you.

            it's http://www.diakom.ru/CARS2/index.html select BMW from menu on left. Then select the first Russian phrase on the right.Then select third Russian phrase below that ( says Mitchell next to it). In drop down box select year, next drop down box select model, third drop down box select wiring diagrams.
