Flat part? The lower part is clipped in. It's a total PITA and you'll likely break half the clips.

Got the flat part off.. Broke no clips. I'm talking about the inside round part next to the flat part.
      Thanks anyway

The inner part of the door sill is held in by clips that will probably break when what part is removed.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Ok so you say there are clips, thats the part that has the rubber bottom door seal attached right?

what you can do is pull one side and slide it out towards the back seat. It will slide right out.

The back seat should be taken out first so you don't poke a hole in it.

Btw, I am talking about the door sill inside the cabin, if that's what you are asking about.

                Yes.
Both 'sills' are held in by clips.

I usually pry up from one end using a screwdriver. They are a bitch. Sometimes they break - sometimes they don't..

The rubber door seal is one large separate piece.

There are two different pieces that make up the door sill. You're still not clear about which one you're referring to. One of them is outside of the seal, and doesn't need to be removed for any reason. The one that begins inside and wraps up over the rubber seal has a series of small clips that hold it in place.

How do you get to those clips?

Chuck Norris once tried to remove an E30 door sill.

                        It broke.

Slide putty knives under and pry up a little at a time, I did mine and broke no clips. Make sure the knives are stiff not flexable.
Go slow and do not space your knives too far apart.

I have found in my experience it is hit and miss. Sometimes the clips break, sometimes the sill breaks and the clips, and sometimes you get lucky and nothing breaks..them the brakes...LOL.. You have to pry gently under the sill and pull up. most cases you might break one or two. I believe there are 5 in total. even if you do you can still hold it down with 3 as I have done so.
