    Suspension Techniques Sway Bars.

Has anyone heard anything about theses sway bars since they were re-released. I guess they've been revamped to try and counter the problem they had with tearing out mounts. I tried to order a set a while back but they had just been recalled. Just wondering if anyone has the new ones or has heard anything good or bad about them.

They have been unavailable for a while now. I wonder if they'll decrease the diameter of the rear bar to 16mm like the other kits, although I think it'll be a bad idea. True the bigger 19mm rear bar tends to rip the mounts but not after you weld in the reinforcements, which is something every competitive driver should do anyway. If they go with a 16mm, it'll solve the problem but at the expense of not being as stiff. Even if they allowed more adjustment on the smaller bar to compensate, it still won't be as stiff as the 19mm bar.

the spec e30 guys were having a problem with the bar not fitting correctly into the mounts. Looked like they used the same centerline for the 19 bar the the stock14.5 used and the larger diameter interacted with the mounting brackets. The new ones should have a larger center to center bend/

no kidding Barry. When I installed those rear bars, they were a bitch an a half.

What I was trying to say is that the bars HAVE been re-released and you can get them at shox.com. Sizes are Dia. front-7/8", rear-3/4." Which I believe is just the same as they were before. I was jsut wondeing if anyone knew what had been changed if anything. they may be including a reinforcement kit or something now.
