    Looking at:

11-14-2-245-364-m30 Elring klinger with spring. Original style

    Or new version without spring:
    11-14-2-249-533-m104. cfy freudenberg

    Both from Pelican

A main seal can prematurely fail because it is an inferior part, it is installed incorrectly, or the sealing surface on the crank shaft may be grooved. in the last case, seating the seal to other than normal position is cheaper than replacing the crankshaft.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
