very bad missfire / cut out, any ideas?

I've been having this problem for a while now and it comes and goes.

So the car will run completely fine and perfect for a week or so and then all the sudden on day it will act up. And the next day it will be fine again. It comes and goes but lately its been getting worse.

So when it acts up i misfires bad real bad. I believe its fuel related but i did a flow test and i got 30oz in 30 seconds.

Lets say i slowly easy into the throttle it will allow me to rev to 5k or what ever but if i get into the car at like 2k it will completely cut out around 4k. pretty much feels like its out of gas and it will back fire sometimes. It seam like its fuel related becsaue i can rev high if i slowly get into it like if i was not demanding much fuel but if i step on it and go full throttle then it will completely cut out and ussualy always around 3-4k.

i replaced fuel filter in fall and just put e36 green tops. I had the problem before the injectors though. i find it hard to believe it to be the pump when it will work perfect one day and complete crap the next day. I've tried taping on the relays also and that did nothing.

also have new plugs

Any suggestions would be helpful i need to get the car done and reliable for bimmerfest :D

Attach a gauge to the inlet side of the fuel rail and tie wrap the gauge to a windshield wiper so you can see it whil driving. When the condition occurs you will be able to tell if this is a fuel problem.
