    Engine temp gauge

Recently changed the engine in my car. The engine temp gauge now functios differently than before. That is to say it rises but the water is near boiling b4 the needle is quarter of the way. B4 the swap out this wouldn't happen until the needle was beyond half way. Any ideas?

If the engine temp is around 212 when the gauge is at about 1/4, I'd suspect a bad temp sensor or a bad connection.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

It could also mean that the engine is not bled properly. If there is an air pocket around the sensor it could read much lower than the actual temp of coolant.

also if your coolant is actually boiling I would suspect that the cooling system isn't fully bled even more.

        Thanks guys.
Is this something I myself could check?
Where is the temp sensor connection (m60b40 rhd)?
How do I bleed the engine as that's a new one on me?
