About 1" all around.Originally posted by kencopperwheatOEM M3 spring will lower it? How much?Originally posted by CharlieHow much lower do you want to go?
If you're looking for a smooth, factory-soft ride, get some new boges & OEM M3 springs. Despite not being "break your car" stiff like a set of 600# GC's, the H&R sport/Bilstein sport combo is decidely stiffer than an OEM setup.

I don't really care about ride quality (although I'm most concerned about breaking something on a pothole) but I really want some good handling. I will be autocrossing and tracking soon and I'll need a good new set of springs and shocks on the ol' 325is. Anybody have any suggestions? Oh yeah, every time I go over a bump I can hear my suspension rattle. Especially on the driver's side in the front, and in the back a little bit. And when its cold it squeaks like a bitch in the back. I think its the bushings, but I would have no clue.Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."

When it comes for a new suspension for better handling it's really up to how much you are willing to spend. You can go anywhere from M3 springs to Ground Control and shocks from Boge ( although not really recommended for anything other than M3 springs ) to Bilsteins or Konis.Originally posted by llll1l1llI don't really care about ride quality (although I'm most concerned about breaking something on a pothole) but I really want some good handling. Here is a pic of my car with the bav auto lowering springs. I was suprised at how much it dropped with these, it seemed like about 3 inches, it looked jacked up before with the stock springs. One of their claims is a good quality ride while handling well, and I think thats a pretty good description. They really aren't that harsh, but it bottoms out rather easily. There is about -2.5 degrees of camber in the back, and about -2 in the front since I can't afford the correction kit at this point.Originally posted by kencopperwheatAre the Bavarian Autosport springs any good?

m42technic has a late model 318iS with M3 springs and 10mm hats, it lowered it some....
M3 springs lowered my late model 325i about 1" all around.
10mm is just under .5", and it made a noticable difference on my car. Of course, they reduce your suspension travel as much as they lower, so I was bottoming out like whoa.Comment

Yea the setup probably lowered the front about an inch and the rear about 3/4 of an inch. The handling was night and day, however. :)James Peacock

i cant belive i havnt posted here yet, but better late than never.
H&R sport springs and bilstein sport shocks:
its a great setup, stiff enough for spirited drives and still soft enough not to bounce you into a headache driving daily.98 M3/4/5
