    OverHeating ASAP

    Hey guys

couple weeks ago my heater core blew
so i decided to bypass the heater core

i got a 2 way valve that connects the inlet and outlet hoses of the heater core from the firewall together

    now that i replaced it
    and put more coolant in

it starts to over heat and feels like none of the fluid is going through the hoses.

i bled the coolant for about 5 minutes with air bubbles still coming out of the bleeder screw

do you think that would be the problem
    i need to know ASAP

    thanks

If air is still burping out, keep bleeding the system. One way that worked for me was to have the car shut off, then open the bleeder valve and start to add coolant/water to your recovery tank. Squeez the upper and lower hoses that connect to your radiator. Keep adding water until you see it seeping out from the bleeder valve. I did this technique after I replaced an H2O pump a few months ago....it worked fine for me.

Keep in mind that there will always be some air trapped in the system no matter what you do. Your goal is to minimize it. I would also double check all the clamps of the work you recently did to make sure nothing is leaking. From how you described the symptoms, my guess is that there is an air pocket developing around your temp sensor which is why you get the unusually high reading.

    Good luck.

but the problem now is the bleeder screw is stripped
and i cant find a way to loosen it back ill keep trying though
      thanks

If your fan clutch is even suspect, replace. If the heater core was bad, look out for the water pump and the radiator going bad. They might be next. Iron block with aluminum head makes for easy warpage . Don't overheat!--Steve
