    oil service light reset problem

i did a bunch of research and found a ton of threads/resources that pointed towards simply jumping pins 7 and 19 to reset the oil and service indicator lights. as far as i was able to ascertain, this applies to all late model e30s the same.

i opened up my diagnostic port to find there is no pin in the #19 "hole" on my car.

    what am i missing here?

stole this pic from simon s in another thread (what it's supposed to look like; mine is empty):

    Weird!

Pin #19 is just a ground. Jumping pin #7 to a good ground (such as your engine or the cluster of grounds in front of the driver side strut tower) will have the same affect as jumping it to your apparently nonexistent #19.

I use a fuseable link to jumper mine, in case I make a mistake.
