Wiper transmission on the lam??

Im guessing this is the problem, the motor seems to be freewheeling, I can hear the WHIRRRRRR when the switch is activated, but the wipers wont rotate....however when I pull on the arm it catches (so it seems) and goes through a revolution before returning to the near park position and ceasing to move. So I have a spankin new motor/trans assembly, is it possible to change out the transmission only? Seems like doing the whole unit is a freakin PITA....

Stranger still, with the wipers turned off, if I pull on the wiper arm, it will go through a revolution......I think I may have found my power parasite at any rate

that sounds like a problem with the output gears.

it really isnt that big of a deal to pull the motor.

Again, not that anybody even cares, but the wiper motor is in fact quite easy to change out. Don't know what all the fuss was about in all these "hardest thing to change in an e30" forum threads........I call SHENANIGANS
