Axle Grease leak 318is 1991

Please check out this picture. I am getting grease slinging from where noted. Do I need to replace the axle? Can not figure this out

check if the boots are cracked :)

if yes, then the boots need replacement. Im guessing the inner ones also-

replacing complete axel may be less time consuming.

Could maybe be bad wheel bearings. Hard to tell from the picture.

There is no outer boot on my 91 318is. The inner boot is in great shape. The grease is coming from where the axle goes into the wheel. Is there a seal in there? So confused

K I am stupid. Upon further inspection there is an outer boot. In lookin in my Bentley manual looks like I have a bad wheel bearing that is slinging grease. will tear into tomorrow
