I hate to make a triple post, but anyways, the work on my car is going to total well over $3300. Thats a lot of money to have the engine rebuilt, but I had two bent rods as well. Number one and six were bent. A few of the vales were bent as well, not sure which. The whole engine is being rebuilt. Head gasket and all that stuff is being replaced. New timing belt, even though I just had it done less than 5,000 miles ago. I'll put a list of stuff that was done to the car up soon. Water came in up through the exhaust and through the airbox. So it was a lot worse than I orginally thought.

It sucks it happened but something good came from it all. I have to pay my $250 deductible and I'll have a rebuilt engine with 72,000 miles on it. I figure I'll have another 150,000 of worry free miles on the iX. I'll also have one that runs like new. I should have it back real soon. Hopefully Saturday.

$3,300 for a stock rebuild? Damn. What do you mean you are going to have a rebuilt engine with 72,000 miles on it though?

I'm only paying my $250 deductible. Insurance is covering the rest for me.

And by saying I'll have a rebuilt engine with 72,000 miles, I mean exactly that. The engine is being rebuilt at 72,000 miles. The car will have a shit load of life left in it.

Drain oil. replace.Remove spark plugs.Insert one ounce of Marvel oil into each cylinder.-turn over---Drain --Repeat-- Repeat -- The only way to save your engine is to get on top of eliminating the water, and get it running again as soon as poss..If the water remains in the bottom end for any time ; all is lost. Displace all water! For anybody who gets water in their engine. Because of a head problem etc.
