    Alternator Swap..................

Got a new bosch reman with no pulley. So I am using the pulley assembly off the old unit. There is a notch on the shaft of the old unit that is not on the shaft of the reman unit. That notch appears to hold the pulley assembly in place. All model numbers match. Do I need that notch to be in place to make the newer reman work? Or will I have to return the reman back to the bmw shop I purcahsed it from and order a new one. thanks in advance for the info..........................................G.

just bolt it down. it'll be fine. the bolts will hold the pulley in place.
