passenger door issue

The passenger door will not unlock, it stays in the lock possition. The only way that I am able to open the door is from the outside while turning the key and holding it clockwise. I also have issues with the fuel door and the locking system not working at all.

Please let me know where to start on this issue.

Any ideas? I know there is lots of issues with the locking systems.

mine does this, except I Have a four door, and its my rear driver side.


Do late models have gas door cables and stuff?

In order for me to open the fuel door I have to go thru the trunk and release the lock. I'm guessing that I have a central locking issue. I'm just not sure how to check on these or where to start.
I have repaired the drivers door lock with a new piece. However I am unable to lock or unlock either door from inside the car.

It is a 1987 325e

definitely sounds like a central locking problem. Go to the junk yard and grab a few of the them. They are easy to take out and easy to install. That should solve your problem. Mine was doing this for a while as well.

First determine if your drivers actuator is unlocking the door or if you are just unlocking manually. Then check the connector terminals in the drivers side door jamb. Spray some contact cleaner in there and replace bad terminals. Then go on to looking at the central locking computer. Just keep pluging away step by step.
