How to move battery to front?

I want to run a small battery in the tray behind my shock tower. How does the battery connect in the rear? Is that fat wire just connected to the distribution black at the front, where everything is hooked up to?

Can I just put a battery in the tray, run the positive to that block, and just ground the battery and be done with it?

Yes, that huge wire just runs down the pass. side of the car and connects to the dist. block. You can just replace that wire in the dist. block with a new one off the battery and ground the battery.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Exactly what I wanted to hear, thanks TJ.

Because I'm a backwards modder. Actually I want to run 2 smaller deep cycle batteries in the trunk, but I am not ready to do this yet and need a new battery NOW, as my current one is going to leave me stranded soon. I just want to put a small bettery that will get the job done

Standard front fitment. Dont need a distribution block though (mine doesnt have it). All 3 wires bunch at the terminal on the cars with it at the front. They just earth it to the side of the body with a large screw.

Please excuse the mess and the rust

Ive got a pair of small odyssey batteries and im going to (hopefully, better be room under there like the E21!) put them under the rear seat.
Just a little project im working on

There is not much room under the rear seat. The rear seat is supported by either foam or springs. You will have to either gut the foam out of the seat, or I don't know what you will do if you have one with the springs.

No foam here. Batteries are only 80mm thick, dont need a whole lot of room :)

this is how mine is set up:

the + wire coming from the fuse box wasn't long enough, so i just ran it to a bolt on the junction box, then ran a wire from that to the battery.
