indicator switch problems

hi,

my indicator switch has been replaced recently with a used one,

the indicator works every now and then (makes ticking noise at correct intervals)

or it either

ticks like crazy (really fast intervals)

the bulb has been replaced and this still happens

its the front left indicator on my e30 that isnt working all other indicators on both sides work fine

could it be a problem with the indicator relay? or maybe the contacts in the front left indicator?

if anybody can help me out, would be really appreciated

A nfast tick from a turn signal activation means that one of the bulbs on that side of the car isn't working.

If other turn signal work correctly its not the relay. I would suspect either the contacts for the light or a wire is intermittently open or grounding.
