Best gasket kit for M42 rebuild?

I've been searching many different sites and have found many 'kits' available, but none of them list exactly what's included. I want to replace pretty much every gasket I can before I put this motor into my car. Any suggestions?

edit: these are the two best kits i've found, but it says in the description they may not contain all the gaskets listed.

The Victor Reinz sets are superior to the Fel-Pro imo.

that's surprising to hear..i'm from the e21 world and the victor reinz head gasket is thought of as garbage by m10 guys.

where can i find the elring or goetz kits?

A few people have had shitty experiences with reinz parts. I know I used them when I replaced the gaskets on my M42, and they are leaking. I also think Buttchug said something about them leaking in his M42 build thread.

Can't help with a kit, I ordered gaskets through pelican cross-checking with the part #s from realoem.

While it may not be up to the heavily boosted task, the VR m42 head gasket is a high quality piece. Paper gaskets should always be substituted with Right Stuff or equal to avoid leaks, particularly in Al to Fe situations imo.

                This^

VR sucks!!! I had to re-do my head gasket on my new engine because Vr gaskets started leaking both oil and coolant between the head and block. It wasnt because im a shitty mechanic or i didnt prep either. The shit was immaculate. fail. will never buy Vr gaskets again.

                goetz all the way

i usually order through pelican and i've thought about taking the time to order each gasket individually, but i figured it would be way more expensive than the kits. the only kits i can find so far are either fel-pro or victor reinz. i'll keep searching for a goetz kit.

fwiw i really only had problems with the headgasket itself. smaller gaskets like timing case h2o pump housing ect ect i had no problems with. i recall having issues with upper oil pan gaskets and the headgasket.

                    best of luck

Funny Chuggz, 'cause my VR set has been 100% tits for a year and counting! :D Not saying VR's the end-all-be-all, but definitely superior to Fel-Pro in my experience.
