    RB25DET conversion - x20 connector

    hi all
this forum seems to have a lot of useful info but for some reason I cant find a pinout diagram for the x20 connector anywhere ( ihave registered on various forums with no luck). I x20 is what its called, its the 25 pin connector on my 1992 e36 318 next to the fuse box connecting to the engine loom. I have sorted the nissan wiring, just wanted to keep it tidy by using the factory connector. Can anybody point me in the right direction. So far all I have found is the pinout for the ecu but this is useless as this was damaged so I cant trace it back.

    thans in advance :D

I assume youd need the same wires from the bmw. Have you done it? this is where im at so far

any pointers re ignition would be great as im not 100% sure im reading the manual correctly ie how does the ecu know if its in accessory or ignition mode?

      cheers

There is somewhere here who posted an mb20 to sr20 conversion chart.

Whenever trying to accomplish a task like this, its best to consult the factory wiring schematic, simple questions like "how does the ecu know if its in accessory or ignition mode" are easily laid out in front of you.

cheers well I am now no longer a wiring diagram virgin, rather enjoyed it once I got my head around the 3 different diagrams (gtr/gtst and bmw). Next week it will start hopefully :)

          cheers

the pinouts are in the ETM, they just aren't listed all in one place. you have to download the version for your car, look through the engine harness diagrams (As well as start and instrument cluster) then write down which pins do what.
