    trunk lock sticking

Hey guys, so a few years ago I wired up one of those $30 Omega keyless units to my trunk lock and it works great. but now the trunk lock sticks.

    Here's what happens:

-Will unlock car with keyless, all unlock

-When locking it again, the trunk lock gets stuck causing none of the locks to lock.

-I'll use the key to unlock the trunk and hit the keyless and it locks em.

Does this almost everyday. So my question, does it sound like the actuator or the actual lock itself? Really wanna get this taken care of before i get locked out of the trunk! Thanks!

May want to try lubricating the lock, I initially thought it was with the key and would say graphite in the tumblers. But the system seems to think it is either open, and won't lock or that it is stuck.

I do not recommend this but would be able to see whats going on, and that would to climb in the trunk and see what it is doing mechanically. But first lube it up and see if it works.

so you think it is the actual lock, not the actuator? i remember with my parents e34 the fuel door wouldnt lock with the rest of the locks, but it was the actuator that was out. Almost seems like my actuator isn't opening up with the electric signal but when the key manually unlocks it, it will turn the lock. if its just the locking mechanism ill replace it...its only $40.

Mine was sticking when I bought my car, i sprayed the crap out of it with wd 40 and worked it back and forth. Did it for a few days and completely freed up.

Lock or actuator on yours? Mine will unlock the doors but not the trunk amd the keyless is wired to the trunk... The trunk lock will work all day with the key but when unlocking with the keyless the trunk lock only sticks...

Ill try spraying the lock mechanism with wd40 and see how that works.

If you want to know if its the actuator or the lock, just disconnect the
actuator. Then try to lock the car. If it locks then the problem is the lock
and if it doesn't then its the actuator. But both the lock and the actuator
could be worn and cause the problem.
