I believe I know what you are talking aboiut. It is connected to the body panel correct? I pulled of one of the hoses and stuck my finger in there, it didn't even feel like it had an outlet!

why dont you just spray one spot of your rear at a time with a hose and see where the water gets in? o.OComment

^^This. Mine was flooding both the jack and battery area. Turned out it was a combination of the trunk seal, tail light gaskets and the gromet.Comment

If you can't find an obvious source for a leak. Put a line of chalk belowerver possible leak location. The next time wate is present in the trunk where the chalk is washed off will point to the source.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Get in the trunk with a flashlight while a trustworthy assistant hoses down suspect areas.
