    chuchuchu...rrrrrrrrrguhgughgugh

ok so it was advised to me that i take the larger injectors out of my engine and put in the old smaller ones. as well as changing the afm from the m30 back to the stocker.(something about an incorrect mixture and too much gas could be washing away the oil...) so i did all this plugged it all back in right(i think...) so today i go to start it up, and after i get fuel pressure it starts up revs to about 3k then just shuts off, even if you try to rev it. opening the throttle while you start makes it so it revs only to about 2k then dies. any ideas?

    thanks
oh yeah this is the 3L stroked aggressive cam etc engine.

pete mchenry the man that built the engine

it was idling rough, probably just the cam, but he thought itd be better if i put the smaller ones back in.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that one of the side effects of using an aggressive cam causes the engine to idle rough at lower rpms.

Maybe your M20 AFM is no good, put the M30 back in and see how it runs

I still do not believe big injectors and a big AFM would be bad for your motor, sorry

You dont understand, that higher flowing injectors, could potentially be dumping to much fuel into the system, thus allowing cylinder wash to occur? This is where the oil gets washed off the cylinder walls... and it dilutes the oil..

And you're building a 2.7l Turbo... Sweet, cant wait to see how that runs.

And you certainly know WAY more than Pete McH, the man who built the motor.

                Good on you Matty!

Look, I don't have my head up my ass like many BMW owners. Unless he had like 30 lb injectors on that motor, they aren't too big. Also, there is definitely nothing wrong with a M30 air flow meter on a stroker motor. And yes, I DID build a 2.7 stroker, runs great!

Obviously something is wrong with your AFM then. Replace it with another M20 unit or put the M30 back in.

should i adjust the spring pressure tighter on the m30?

replace it with a proper M20 AFM until you get an SMT6 and MAF installed and tuned.
