    What's draining my battery?

    New battery,
    Newish alternator,
If I leave my car sitting for more than 4 to 5 days, it is completely dead when I go to crank it. It needs a jump. The only thing I can figure is the short I know I have somewhere in my wiring that leads to the rear defrost switch. I've been procrastinating fixing it because I hardly use it. Could that be draining the battery? Other than that I can't imagine my analog clock would be sucking that much juice while it sits.

Fix the short for sure. Do you leave an ipod plugged in charging? alarm? all the little things add up.

If you disconnect bat - and jump clamp to post with DVOM on highest amp setting, check to see if there is excessive draw. Then pull fuses one at a time to isolate the offending circuit. Here is a detailed explanation.
