The white box is for the brake lights. OR err um the clutch lock out for the cruise.

I KNEW IT I had my clutch worked on years ago and after the cruise no longer worked mechanic was like "no we put it back together" fuckin ass hole.

Anyway, when I depress the plunger my cruise still won't engage.

Clutch interrupt switch is piggy backed on brake interrupt switch. It is either ground on or ground off. I forget. It's a big loop circuit. So once you establish continuity on that you should get your cruise back.

                you da man
I cant get the cruise control to work, i have tried it with the switch depressed and extended and still no dice, what the fuck else could it be? faulty switch?

Im so mad at this mechanic. After this went down I drove back to his shop and he was like CC is a different system and has nothing to do w clutch. Why wouldnt he just reassemble the stuff?

                all comments welcome

Do you know if a small wire is plugged into the back of your cluster? In the green plug housing:

                          More info here: http://blog.bavauto.com/7107/bmw-odo...-yellow-green/

I know that needs to be plugged in, may or may not be your problem, worth a quick check though!
