    Which heater core?!?

I'm starting to smell coolant in my heat and the heater valve has already been replaced which leads to the heater core starting to die a slow death. I want to do this repair with part in hand so I am going to order it in advance. Only catch is that there are two different types to choose from. One is a plastic inlet and the other is aluminum. The attachments also look different.

Any idea what I should order for my 325is built in 12/88?

Also it is recommended to replace the radiator cap. Why? Is it because the system is more pressurized... and most likely this cap is 20+ years old and might not hold a good enough seal?

    Thanks,

    Adam

The part you want should be 64118391363
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

You want that first Behr heater core unless you have a euro car without factory AC.
