M20 progress-running but rough

ok, so I narrowed it down to two things: I know #6 isn't firing. I did the the idle drop test and 6 was the only one that didn't change.

I removed #6 plug and #5 plug and swapped them. did the idle drop test again and #6 worked on #5 plug. So I know it isn't the pulse or problem with wiring.

the question: can the injector be faulty or dead besides the possibility of it being clogged is there anything else the injector has that would prevent it from working?

This could be a problem with the injector or with the valves on that cylinder. Compression and leak down tests will tell if there is a problem in the cylinder. Swapping injectors would be the next step.

I checked the valves on all cylinders - pressure tested - at the machinists before I installed the head. I do have a compression tester - I suppose it can't hurt to double check. thx.
