    fuel injector seals/ spark plugs

I bought some new injector seals from BMA because im putting in some 19lbs ones. The new seals dont seam to fit tight around the injectors like the old ones did, is this right?

unrelated here are a couple pics of my spark plugs. They were those stupid platimun 4s or whatever. oh, and one of them was loose.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, W8LCR plugs only in M20s. I bet you're glad to get rid of those +4s. Platinum never works right for us.

As for your seals, how loose exactly? Just enough to be able to move it? Is there a noticable gap between teh seal and injector?

Injector O rings should be a standard size.. thats why this is especially strange. It's hard to judge without seeing it though. You just don't want it to be so big that it gets pinched and leaves a gap when you shove it in.

you can get injector seals and caps at any autoparts store and they are dirt cheap, I have no idea why you bought them online.

I realized after the fact that he has an M42, and for those the NGK's that he has are the best thing. Just as long as they arent that platinum crap they are fine though.

I would use some lubricating spray on it. THat should help prevent rust from forming. So far as the electronics are dry and it wasn't drowned in a river of rain water...luck is on your side (hopefully)

I would do the same for your TB issue as well (slightly OT but yet related, to make sure none of your butterfiles are binding

You sure are having one hell of a one-one-one with your m42 this week!! BTW, which injectors did you upgrade up to? Be sure to change those little inlet and return fuel lines while you're in there as well ;)

                          G.luck :D

there are some 19lbs'ers. If you are talking about the tubes that go between the short metal tubes and the feul rail, i had to cut those anywyas. I have some tubing but i dont know if its the right kind or good enough. Its 5/16 SAE-30r7 and it has some braiding inside the rubber.

SAE 5/16s fuel line is no good. It's just a touch too big and when you tighten the hose clamp it will get a fold in it and start leaking before too long. Get some metric hose.
