Now I really F'd Up! HELP

I tried to remove the transmission this weekend to install the correct pressure pate and clutch disk but the transmission will not come off!

We got it about 1 inch off the engine and it will not come off any further.

We tried prying it from multiple angles in multiple places. Nothing.

We tried pulling it with a chain with a van and shaking it. Nothing

We've pretty much tried everything we can think of and nothing works.

The only thing we can think of but cannot find a tool for is something to wedge in between the bell housing and the engine at the top and bottom or left and right side of the engine to push it off from the engine.

ARe you sure you removed all the torx bolts? especially those that are inside the bell housing plate? Don't forget to remove the starter also.

You have to get the tranny nice and inline in reguards to the engine to get it to slide off.

^^^ And did you remove the bottom plate that covers the rear portion of the oil pan? When I removed my tranny from my spare engine I didn't do this and the tranny would only slide off an inch or so then get stuck on the fly wheel..... Good luck

If I had not removed all the torx bolts it would not have slid out the 1 inch that it has already, same principle applies to the starter.

          Tranny is lined up perfect.

The bottom plate never made difference any other time I removed the automatic and as far as I can tell it's not getting caught on the flywheel. As a matter a fact I can seethe edge of the pressure plate.

            Drive shaft?
            Below the radar...

I betcha the pilot bearing is stuck to the nose of the input shaft and bumping up on the back side of the disc or something like that.

Can you reach the 6 bolts that hold the clutch onto the flywheel? If you can snake up and get those I bet it would come. Maybe through the Slave hole you can get them.

With things like this it is always the last thing you expect. I blew a valve on my 92 300ZX and it was cheaper and easier to buy a box motor. I pulled the old one, replaced the new one and the damn thing just would not mount no matter what I do no go.

Turned out the damn oil pan was backwards must have come from a fwd car, took me almost 3 days to figure it out!

If you are talking about the 6 bolts that hold the pressure plate on the problem with using the hole for the slave cylinderis that the throw out fork is in the way.

We've considered using a flex head ratchet but we can't seem to get enough clearance to get in a good position.

Is there such thing as a toolthat resembles something like the jaws life that we could wedge one of each in between the bell housing and the engine on both sides that would pry it off the engine?

Tried to remove the pressure plate bolts through the slave cylinder hole just to see if it could be done with no luck. Not enough room for the socket.

Did some measurements and measing how far transmission has came out we're 99% positive that pilot bearing is stuck on the nose of the input shaft so it will not allow the input shaft to come clear of the clutch disk.

We're toying with the idea of finding someone with a cutting torch that can cut a big hole in the bottom of the bell housing so we can atleast get to the pressure plate bolts.

I have an extra Getrag 260 I was gonna sell but I may end up having to use it.

This is the price you pay when you try to be a cheap bastid.

Ok, you know that long bent-up paper clip looking spring that holds the release arm in place on the passengers side of the tranny? you can pop it out of place from outside, once you do that you should be able to move the release arm away.

Right now the problem isn't getting the extension through, the problem is that the socket rubs the top of the bell housing and will not allow a good grip in the bolt.

Try grinding down the socket, or finding some 1/4" drive 13mm ones that will work.
