    2 Fuel Regulators? 325is

Do E30s have 2 fuel pressure regulators?

Im having some issues with fuel on a recent e30 I picked up.

I know there is one in the engine bay near the manifold but I was underneath a recent car i picked up and noticed that there was something very similar down the lines near the driver side rear wheel.. Near the fuel filter.

Is this normal? If so does anyone know where to find the replacement part or if its necessary?

I have one E30 where I apparently bypassed this thing but not sure if that was the right thing to do.

Number 17 in the diagram. They call it an absorber or pulse modulator. It's basically a shock absorber to even out the fuel pressure after it leaves the pump.

      awesome, thanks for finding it.

      Is it "necessary"?

I don't know, but I think it was only used on early models that had an external fuel pump in conjunction with the in tank pump. Your car should have two fuel pumps. Experts please weigh in.

this, taking this would maybe build more fuel pressure in the line going to fuel rail ????

i found out the outside pump is a high pressure pump rated at somewhere 90-100psi

It's definitely something I would toss in the trash can.

I think mercedes of the vintage used a "cigar" hose to dampen pulses. I think it is all hooey. If everything else is functioning and you have a good idel, toss it and move on.

I doubt that rusty pos still works anyways. He was completely serious. That module was only on e30's here for 13 months. Look at realoem. Almost all e30's do NOT have it and work fine.

you don't need it. it only came on early E30s.
