Fine tuning fix - Door Lock/key issue

So I now that I have my E30 ETA back on the road with no overheat issues and no stupid oil service lights I have an issue that is something I am able to deal with however eventually will need to pay some attention to

So When I bought the car the PO gave me two key(s). One was a full and properly cut regular BMW metal key. The other was the black bmw key...only with about 1/2 inch of key on it.

As described by the PO, the other part of the key "broke off" in the door and the door is still lockable. But I have to use the black "Nub" (sts) to unlock/lock my vehicle but the regular cut metal key to turn the ignition on.

Sidenote: The full key does not fit into the trunk lock all the way. Also, the full metal key "barely" is able to the move the passenger door lock about 1-2mm

Seeing that the door locks are hot issue on here I figure I would ask and get some gouge on proper fixes...

    Thanks!

Replace the tumblers in the door and trunk with ones matched to the car's VIN. And get at least one more key from a dealer by VIN. Hopefully, the ignition cylinder is the original part. If it isn't you'll also need another key and an ignition tumbler by VIN.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

ugh, I think going keyless entry is the smartest option money and timewise

Nice way to use google as a means for instruction...classic

            Cheers!
