    what is this piece? on the trunk lock.

    the little white clip that holds the actuator rod onto the lock.
    here's a diagram but i don't see any clips for the lock itself. just the actuators.

    just go to your local junkyard and remove that complete piece.

      local junk yard=1 completely gutted e30 with literally no parts on it :(

        What's wrong with the one in the picture? The rod snaps into place with a bit of force.

          the plastic broke apart when i was removing the rod. so where the plastic should completely surround the rod and secure it, there's only half a circle so the rod will just fall out.

          if you've seen this part first hand i hope you understand what i mean, it's hard to explain but the clip is broken and because it's a moving part i can't glue it.
