    I understand that, He media blasts the things before they receive powder.

    OK. SO airbox off. Brake Booster vacuum hose removed (though it is getting replaced so I went at it hard)

    All bolts on passenger side off. Now I just have to get the ones deep under the intake. damn it

    What should I do with the all the hoses that have coolant? Put a plastic bag and a rubber band over the end

    As far as parts to get ordered, my list is:
    4 intake gaskets
    The other intake gasket
    Throttle Body Gasket
    Starter
    New Hood strut (but thats irrelevant)

      you don't need to remove the brake booster and master to take the intake out. you're creating more work then necessary. just put the coolant hoses aside..nothing special.

        Im not removing the brake booster and master. The brake booster vacuum hose was a BITCH to get off and took me a while.

          Guess I am cleaning the fuel injectors while I am in there. Doesnt sound too hard

            It looks like I'm late to the party, but you don't have to remove anything other than the airbox/meter/throttle boot to remove the starter. Might have to loosen up the harness carrier or dipstick tube (little things) but you definitely don't have to remove the heater hoses, intake manifold, or brake booster/master. Your car isn't an early eta with the giant starter either..

            For what it's worth, I did one on a lady's '85 eta a few days ago. All I did was what I said above and jacked the drivers side up just enough for me to slide under. Long extension (or several short extensions) with a universal 3/8" at the end with the E Torx and you shouldn't have a problem.

            Edit: Just realized that you are taking the intake manifold off for fun. Disregard what I said, didn't realize that.

              Yeah the intake mani is coming off because I am having it powdercoated.

              I never considered removing the brake booster...

              So how did you get to the far starter bolt? The one tucked up on the tranny sign

                As I said, you have to get "creative" with your tools, extensions, sockets,pry bars etc. There is no magic convenient way of doing it.

                  Alright Ceeker. Im working in the rain, and it totally sucks. Maybe I should try and fix the starter and then pull the manifold

                  Im just worried it isn't my starter. But it is getting power from the battery and power from the other wire when the key is turned. Ill jump my car tomorrow and make sure that it is indeed not my battery

                    pull the manifold -will make getting the starter out much easier..you can see more of what you are doing. I just pulled the manifold on a head job I am about to get knee deep into. 12 -12mm nuts all easily accessible with a socket, extension. make sure your injector harness is disconnected and pull the intake away from the head. you might need to wiggle it a bit to get it loose. I know what it is like working in bad weather. Have done it most of my life. Try installing a transmission in the pouring rain by yourself.

                    oh, and since you're in there. once the intake comes out the oil tube in the center is going to pop up. replace the two 0-rings - 1 which fits in the intake side the other in the block side.

                      I havnt ordered the parts yet

                      EDIT: found the part on Pelican. I feel dumb cause its name is so obvious

                        The fuelinjector harness connector is stuck. So I got smart (well so I thought) and locked vice grips onto the bottom fat part and channellocks to the top. Well top cracked So I pull back the rubber cover and took off all the cracked plastic. It is still stuck

                        So I might just wire each connector individually... http://www.spece30.com/forum/3-getti...jector-harness

                        Would butt joints with heatshrinked insulation over each end be fine for this?
