    Intake Manifold gasket

Help ! I think after putting in my intake that it couldn't or didn't adjust to the pressure so my intake manifold gasket blew or something and now its "hissing" or leaking air. My friend told me that just to replace the intake manifold gasket and i'll be fine? told me will take about 5 hrs to do? please help on this situation. any suggestions would be nice. thanks!

pretty vauge post but wheres it hissing from? are you sure the tube that goes to the crankcase is seated and o rings are in correctly? how does it run?

edit: after reading your post again im not sure wtf you did. did you pull the entire intake manifold or does the term intake mean a cone filter to you?

intake manifold gaskets don't "blow". unless you have a turbo, they aren't under pressure. sounds like you put it together wrong and have a vacuum leak.

From listening carefully it sounds like its hissing under the intake manifold or on the side of the head. As of right now, surprisingly its running pretty good, no problems. I'm just worried though that it's like a ticking time bomb waiting to blow. The term intake that I mentioned, I put in an air intake w/ heatshield.
Yes, thanks nando. I do have a vacuum leak. I'm afraid my air is running to lean and eventually my pistons are wearing out as of the moment.
Any more help , suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks!

Have you tried spraying carb cleaner around the suspected areas that the hissing may be coming from? This should help you ID the problem spot pretty quick. Once you spray the carb cleaner on the leak the engine will rev or idle higher.

What did you do that started this problem?
