    Bad vibrations, fan hitting radiator

    Hey r3v,

I'm having really bad vibrations from 1st to 2nd gear, and also speeds above 60mph. I changed the center support bearing. I dont know what else it is. Also my fan hits the radiator , when I brake and turn? Let me know what you think I going on. Thanks

If you drive your e30 on stairs, you're gonna have a bad time.

About to buy some right now. Thanks, But thats only the fan hitting the radiator problem. What about the vibrations? do you have an idea on what it could be?

What about the bar underneath the radiator? That was the culprit when my clutch fan broke a couple months ago. If it's bent, that might cause a problem.

The motor mounts also act as a vibration dampener. Since the mounts are bad, there's no more dampening.

In almost all cases a failure of the CSB will be caused by binding u-joints in the drive shaft. Replacement of just the CSB may, or may not, provide temporary relief, but the new CSB will have a very short life and some vibration will still be present. The only cure is to replace the drive shaft with a new or rebuilt part. A rebuilt normally comes with a new CSB installed.

As to the fan, replace the motor and transmission mounts.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
