I have slightly larger injectors as the initial program of MarkD 93 octane needs bigger injectors as it goes lean with stock. (newer ones use stock fine with some clever programming).

i just put in the seal between the MC and brake booster and it runs better then ever. in the garage at least. i still have a problem with the ebrake rubbing

His plugs before mods indicated otherwise.Did some research and yes white soot=lean.The real question is how lean was he running and where he stands now.

yes, the plugs were white before. yes that means lean. But that doesn't necessarily mean the engine is running lean because it needs bigger fuel injectors. This is before the chip and work. Are you telling me the stock M42 needs more gas?

No. Did you catch where changing the gasket helped the problem? Nick had a vacuum leak and therefore the engine was running lean. And instead of fixing that problem, then adding a chip and seeing what the A/F is.....he added the chip and injectors because they are bigger and in his mind therefore better. He can't even put in the right type of spark plug!

That poor poor engine suffering poor e30 tuning.

Get Bosch Supers and get on a dyno to see what your air and fuel looks like. Hopefully the computer has corrected somewhat for the big boys but I don't think you're idle will even be as smooth as with stock since you are dumping extra fuel in there.

All goes back to this. Where most kids never care to think about and just group-think and follow what others say - that bigger injectors are cool and better.

Oh yeah, why 19lb injectors? Did dyno tuning tell you the stock injectors were maxed out?

thiis is the first time ive touched the spark plugs. those were the ones that were in it when i bought it. i changed the MC after i took the plugs out

For the last time the STOCK units in the M42 are ALREADY 19LB units.Exact same units found on all 86 + M30 B35 engines.He only upgraded by about 1/2 LB with the mustang units.

Take a look bosch application guide.Part #0 280 150 714 .just do ctrl F.
